I guess we’ll never learn

It’s amazing to see how much technology has effected our lives. It’s also amazing to see how many people have embraced technology and still have no clue how to make it work for them. In most cases the solution they’ve decided on, whether it be a piece of software or some personal organizer/gadget, causes them to waste time to the point where they aren’t accomplishing anything except messing with the “solution”.

When people first started using personal computers (yes I can remember that far back, I was there) they thought the computers would save them from so much tedium. Guess what.. Now they still have to handle the tedious daily tasks and they have to figure out how to do them with every new program that comes along or every new gadget that promises to make their lives easier. Ha!

Don’t get me wrong, I love computers and if it wasn’t for all of these new programs and gadgets being difficult to use and in general very problematic, I wouldn’t have been able to make a fairly decent a living for the last 15 years or so. I just had to comment on the irony of the whole thing. Never a day goes by that I don’t see some example of this and it still makes me laugh. (sometimes out loud)
